Piazzolla in Paris

In this journey we travel not only around the globe, but also through the musical map formed by the composers who most influenced Piazzolla. Thanks to them, he has become one of the most universal composers of the 20th century.

The travelling companion in this project is the pianist Luis Arias, who combines an intense performance activity with teaching at the Conservatory of Music of Aragon, the Reina Sofía International School of Music, and the IF (International Foundation).

This viola and piano recital, which swings between tango and impressionist music, follows a young Astor Piazzolla on his adventure from New York and Argentina to Paris. Ana Valero pays tribute to the Argentinian composer, on the hundredth anniversary of his birth. She does it through works by Piazzolla himself and compositions by Ginastera, Nadia Boulanger, Poulenc, and Bragato.
